Well it is another year and another booty. We have set up a new team page. Come out and ride with us or donate to a great cause.
These pictures kind of work in order to show getting ready for the start of the ride and waiting to ride.

Ellen from Barbizon Boston rode with us last year. She rode 101 miles this year.

Jeff heading out. Wonder if he knew that he would ride 101 miles.

This is, Paul and Esthere’s, son Pete heading out to start the ride. We were happy to see Pete join the team and put in some great laps. He rode a really great 27 miles.

Team Barbizon waiting to start. Paul, Pete, and Paul’s friend Jay at the beginning. Paul went on to ride 154 miles and Jay did 101.

John waiting behind Paul. John, a self proclaimed couch potato, got off the couch and rode a surprising 24 miles.
Here are some more photos. I will keep posting them until there are no more, so enjoy.
The raising of the Barbizon banner!! Jeff the GM at the Charlotte office and Steve from the Washington office making the banner just right.
Josh from WH Onley Co. came to ride. His company was one of our sponsors. Thanks for supporting the team by sponsoring us and riding with us, Josh.
This a Friday team shot. Ellen, from the Boston office, Jay, a friend of Paul, Jeff, Cyd, Paul, John, JW, all from the Charlotte office, William, a friend of Josh, Sherri, our jersey graphic artist, and , Pete kneeling, is Paul and Esthere’s son.
Barbizon riders on the course. Dave, from the Charlotte office, and Ellen putting in some laps on the beautiful booty loop.
TEAM BARBIZON!!!
The booty has come and gone! What a wonderful, although a bit wet, time was had by all. Sixteen riders came out to ride for the team and they collectively rode 1033.56 miles. Six riders rode over 100 miles! Jeff Montgomerie, John Southwick, Ellen Bone, Steve Synder, all who work for Barbizon, and Jason Tipa, a friend of Paul Strom, rode 101 miles a piece. Paul Strom, our team leader, rode a mammoth 157.4 miles. Everyone who rode is already talking about riding next year. The event is contagious. Let us not forget though that the ride is about cancer awareness. On that front Team Barbizon did really well also, we raised over $13,000.00 dollars. Thanks to all that came out to ride and big thanks to all that donated money to the cause.
So some of us have been watching the Tour to get inspiration for the Booty. There were times at the Booty last year that I thought, “This must be what it is like at the Tour.” Now granted I was most likely referring to all of the stretchy pants and clacky shoes, but there are also all the times you here “on your left!” If you haven’t been watching the Tour you can check out what you are missing with either the Tour de France site or Versus. On Versus you can watch all of the crashes, yeah I know nascar for the snooty. If you do watch the tour you will applicate the Phil Liggett fan page. He is one of the sports casters for the Tour and being a word smith, bike passionate, and British he becomes very quotable. It is all a lot of fun and will get you in the mood for Team Barbizon at the Booty.
As of this morning we have received 102 donations that add up to nearly $10,000. That is pretty amazing, considering that we raised just under $2000 last year. I do have to say that Paul and Esthere are a big reason that we have done so well. They worked really hard to secure our sponsors. They also invited Jason Tipa to ride with us and he has proven to be our best individual fund raiser. There are still three weeks until the event so hopefully we will keep adding to this number of donations. Remember, all money donated goes to the Lance Armstrong foundation and local cancer centers here in Charlotte. I was surprised to read that much of this money will go to early detection and early treatment programs. These are the programs that could be the difference between life and death!
Well, we are a month out from the big ride. Everybody is doing a great job of fund raising. We are in second place behind the Harris Teeter guy, with Bank of America coming up on us fast in third. As Paul mentioned to me, BOA has easily double if not triple the riders than we have and BOA matches the donations that they raise, we are still ahead of them. I don’t know how long that will last but, I am really proud of the money that we have raised so far. We do still have a few corporate sponsors that haven’t paid up yet so we have a bit more to add. I am hoping that all of the employees of Barbizon will donate to the cause. If each one gave just $20 it would add up to over $3000. I don’t know if we are going to reach our team goal of $20,000, but I do know that we have raised 4 times what we did last year. That ain’t to shabby.
Well Team Barbizon has been put in second place on the fund raising front, even though many of our team members have been really raising the funds. Kudos to Jason Tipa who leads the Barbizon Team in individual moneys raised and to Steve Snyder who is running a good second. Everybody keep up the good work and hopefully we will continue to stay one of the top teams and maybe take back first place.
Team Barbizon has lead the fund raising for 24 Hours of Booty from the first day of registration and we continue to lead. Below is the link to the main Booty donation page showing team and individual leaders. Be apart of the team by donating to your favorite Team Barbizon rider or to the team as a whole. Lets keep our team on top.
